Foot & Mouth - access remains restricted...
Foot & Mouth continues to spread in the UK [thankfully mostly within already infected areas] and most counties have restricted access to the countryside in general and wildlife reserves in particular. See the archived articles for statements from various countryside organisations and visit Fatbirder's UK county pages for updates from your Bird Club or Ornithology Society.
Potential overseas visitors will find that, whilst much of the UK now has access restrictions, there are still many places where they will still be able to go and see our birds.
For UK birders the watchword is still caution and, if in doubt, don't go out. Nevertheless, in almost all counties there are still sites that you can safely visit - a quick look at your local bird club website is the best way to find out more as most of them are carrying information about the outbreak and how it affects birders.
