Birdwatch have just announced that the race, cancelled in May, will go ahead in October...
To quote the article about the race [organised jointly by the RSPB and BirdLife International] in the next issue of Birdwatch; \"We\'ve never run an Autumn bird race before and the new timing will present some thrilling challenges and opportunities\" So say all of us. It may be new to the UK but Fall big days are a regualr feature of North American birding.
Full details will be published in
next month\'s Birdwatch Magazine as will the entry form - anyone who paid for the May event and did not withdraw does not need to
re-apply. Moneys raised will go to help avoid long line Bycatch of seabirds.
The Fat Birder intends to partidcipate in his
usual indolent way by undertaking a \"Big Sit\"! So I may see you as you run past me!
