BirdLife ChampionWader Quest has become a BirdLife Species Champion supporting the BirdLife Preventing Extinctions Programme. The husband and wife team of Rick and Elis Simpson said,
“We are very proud and happy to be supporting BirdLife in this important programme to prevent any more species of bird becoming extinct. There are too many globally threatened species and this work will surely help to prevent any of them being lost so that our children and grandchildren will also have the pleasure of sharing this planet with them.”
Wader Quest’s aim is to highlight specifically the problems being faced by the world’s waders by doing self-funded trips around the world looking for waders and giving talks to local schools and societies to raise awareness. At the same time they are raising money for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Spoon-billed Sandpiper captive breeding programme.
