CJ WildBird Foods – Handbook of garden Feeding 2003-2004
I don`t normally review
freebies or catalogues – even when the producer is among my advertisers but I`m making it an exception because this is a really good
idea.
Yes it is 80% catalogue of bird food and birdfeeders all available from CJ WildBird Food and much endorsed by the RSPB…
but it is a good deal more than that too. Anyway, all the food and feeding accessories are also available through the Fatbirder shop
and no doubt most can be bought from other makers and pet stores. What is novel is that this booklet tells you what to feed different
species of UK garden birds, when to feed them and even how to present the food in the most appropriate way.
20 million people in the UK
like to feed their garden birds, only 1 million are members of the RSPB and probably only a fraction of that are regular birders so
just because some of us know which bird eats what it doesn`t mean that the majority of those who buy birdfeed do. This is a free
guide which they will find invaluable – especially if they want to attract in more unusual birds. Of course, if they do it will be
good news for birds and good news for regular birders.
So you can buy all these products, but you also get to ready some top
quality articles about Hygiene for your bird table, how to site your nest boxes and how to garden in a way that will attract wildlife
etc.
So what if it is one great bid advertisement and a catalogue, it`s also a damn good guide and no one will force you to
buy their products. What`s more, if you do buy RSPB BirdCare products the RSPB will get a royalty every time.
