Bird Watching Binoculars Reviews
For more than two decades fatbirder.com has given free, impartial information and advice to birdwatchers all over the world. Part of being an information-rich website for birders has been to carry reviews of everything associated with birding from the best binoculars for birding to books, spotting-scopes to software as well as Apps and accessories.
This page brings together all the more recent binoculars reviews. I don’t give ‘stars’ or ratings because different binoculars suit the different needs of people and their pockets. The bins suitable for a new young birder may well get upgraded if they continue to pursue this hobby. What I do is to recommend some and say if they are good value for money and if they are top quality.
While my reviews go back to 1998 (that’s forever in internet years) I have selected only those reviews that remain relevant. I will continue to add to them. Most reviews are written by me (Bo Beolens, founder and operator of Fatbirder.com) I do not publish unsolicited reviews, although I have published several from ‘guest reviewers’. These are friends, relatives and other birders known to me. I will consider such offers ONLY when I can be 100% sure they are independent (or clearly state their vested interest) and maintain the absolute integrity of this site.
With some optics I offer the opportunity to buy the product via a direct link to the optics maker of high-profile retailer. Otherwise they can be purchased via a link to the least expensive purveyor that I am aware of.
